  ATTN CO Of Tpr Michael D. Smith Sir: Enroute to Cols from Pemberville, my 81 yr old wife, and same aged husband got a flat tire, called 911, and were amazed to see Tpr Smith arrive in under 12 m inutes. The temperature was a robust 91, between us we've a bad back, heart, and COPD, and were clueless about changing a tire. Tpr Smith did so, saved our bacon, and is a textbook example of how to enhance the public perception of law enforcement-----an area which sorely needs improving. This man's a winner, and I hope this letter will find it's say into his personnel file. We thank you for a great job of selection and training! Thanks again, Trooper Michael D. Smith!   I was heading north bound on rt. 23, north of Marion, when suddenly I blew a tire. I was in the process of calling AAA with a 7 minute wait. I looked in rear view mirror approximately 3 minutes and saw the state highway patrol pulling in behind me. To a great surprise he said he will change my tire. I could not be more grateful to Officer Shallhouse in his polite manor and being so helpful. The reason this was so important is I am close to 69 am Plaque with COPD. I just can not strain myself because of loosing my breath. To me this was above the call of duty
